How to connect laptop to second monitor

The majority of modern laptops have two channels required for connection to external displays. This means that when working with a mobile computer, you can use three of the screen.

You will need

• cables video transmission;
• - adapter.

Instruction

1. Start with learning the outputs of the laptop. Often found a combination of ports VGA (D-Sub) and HDMI. This is a very reasonable solution, allowing to transmit both analog and digital signals.
2. Now find out which ports are present in your monitor. Computer displays rarely give the HDMI input. Much more can be found another digital port to DVI. If both monitors only have these inputs, purchase two adapters.
3. The first connector must be connected to the monitor and connect the VGA cable with the DVI port. Connect one of the monitors to the VGA channel of the mobile computer.
4. The second adapter connect HDMI port of the laptop. Now, connect the second display with the computer using a DVI-DVI cable. You can also use adapter instead of a cable with the right connectors.
5. Turn on your computer and both monitors. Wait for the operating system to load. Now you have plenty of configuration options for the synchronous operation of three displays.
6. If you plan to use all available screens independently from one another, first select the main display. Open control panel and select "appearance and personalization". Click on the link "Connect to external display".
7. Select with the left mouse button the desired screen. Activate the checkbox "Make this display primary", setting beside him tick. Alternately select two other icons and click on "Extend these displays". For the convenience of display, change the position of the icons in the settings menu.
8. You can also use the two screens to output identical images. In this third display will continue to expand the desktop area. To activate this mode, select one of the monitors and go to "Duplicate this display".
