How to clean the fish
Fish is one of the most valuable gastronomic products. It is one of the main characters of Mediterranean cuisine. In many Eastern Slavic countries, fish dishes are a must on major Christian holidays. But in any story of cooking fish is a bad moment — it is cleaning fish. If fish is cleaned in the apartment or in the house, after it takes a long time to bring the workplace into order, as the scales flying in all directions. There is a simple way to avoid it.
You will need
- A large bucket or deep basin
- Cold water
- Peeler
Instruction
For cleaning a small number of medium-sized fish you can eat in the kitchen. On the countertop next to the sink, set the bowl of water. The water should be cold, but at the same time comfortable temperature.
Rinse fish under running water, then completely immerse in a container of water.
Start to clean the fish with a vegetable peeler directly under the water in the direction from the tail, holding it with one hand. So the whole scale will remain under water and will not spread.
Note
The water should be cold, as the hot in this case turbid.
Gills and fins if necessary, remove after cleaning the fish from the scales on a cutting Board to avoid cuts.
All tools and any container in which you cleaned fish, after completion you have to handle a cleaner suitable for a particular material of your bucket, basin, peeler.
The surface of the table also should be treated with disinfectant, in any case, after work.
Basecase much safer than a knife.
Fish cleaning is necessary to have a separate peeler, which you won't use for anything else.
Do not drain the water from the scales in the hole of water pipe and drain the water with scales only in the toilet.
Useful advice
Possible for cleaning fish, use a peeler blade located along the arm. This peeler is much easier in this case. For cleaning large quantities of fish of large size, use the bathroom.
