How to change the electricity meter
All used electric meters will be subject to systematic verification. It is for this reason sometimes it is necessary to dismantle the old meter and replacing it with the attorney. Moreover, the replacement of old meter with a new one can be caused by a failure of the first.
You will need
- the meter plug, a special screw driver.
Instruction
Short-circuit the secondary winding of the current transformers. To do this, perform the screwing of the plug in current clamps.
Using special screwdrivers with insulated handles lift up the contact plate, which will allow to close the current circuit of the given power.
With the help of two screwdrivers with insulated handles disconnect phase.
Remove the old appliance electricity metering.
Install a new meter, turn on phase and perform the reverse sequence prior to removing the old device for electricity metering.

Self-replacement of meter promises a huge fine! Replacement of the metering device should produce electricians utility company having a license and other supporting documents on the production of this type of work. You, in turn, can present and control the replacement process so as not to miss the shortcomings of the work of the invited experts.

It is recommended that the old meter to change to a new two-tariff meter for electricity metering. Such equipment will allow to significantly reduce the costs of electricity due to the fact that the night time load on the network is minimal. Another important point that should be considered when replacement of meter class of accuracy of the instrument to measure consumed electricity. In the case when there is no possibility to install multi-tariff meter, it is recommended to opt for an induction device class "2". If from date of manufacture purchased a new electric meter in less than two years, for single-phase instrument calibration in Metrology is required. As for three phase meters, then they must present the seal of gospoverki no more than annual prescription.
