Instruction
1
Check pressure with a regular pressure gauge. To do this, disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery. Wear oil-resistant hose to the fitting on the gauge. Inner diameter of hose 12 mm, don't forget to secure it with the clamp.
2
Before starting work, be sure to relieve the pressure. This will slow the car and turn the transmission into neutral. Remove the cover hatch over the fuel tank, unscrewing the fastening screws. Disconnect the fuel pump connector from the wiring harness.
3
Start the engine, it should stall when the gasoline in the fuel line. Crank the engine for a few seconds. Remove the plastic cap that is worn on the fitting the fuel line. Unscrew the valve fitting from the fuel rail and install it the hose on the pressure gauge.
4
Run the engine at idle. Check the pressure of the fuel, which ideally should be about 3 atmospheres. Then remove the vacuum hose that is installed on the fuel pressure regulator. Measure the pressure again. If the regulator is OK, it will grow on 0,2-0,7 atmospheres.
5
If pressure below norm, the "culprits" may be several. Dial the speed, and measure the pressure again. If it is at higher revs increased, then it is time to change the fuel filter. And if this pressure falls, it is necessary to replace the pump.
