Instruction
1
Tie tight laces on boots. Make sure that the foot is firmly seated but not over-tightened. This point is extremely necessary for control of the ball, since the free leg into the boots will reduce speed while dribbling. Always consider this aspect.
2
Do dribble the ball every ¼ and ½ step. Always focus on close ball control. This is the basic quality of the dribbler, because it makes no sense to work on speed, if there is no clear possession of the ball. Switch to high-speed operation (stroke) as soon as you able to control the movements every half-step.
3
Use cones to practice dribbling. Place them on the field so as to obtain a direct corridor from triangles. Stroke the ball around each cone, as it makes the skier that descends from the mountain slalom and trying to get into the space between the obstacles. Start dribbling through each half-step, to be sure in the technique. Only then increase speed. Then move the cones a bit closer to each other so that you become harder to make a stroke around them.
4
Let's complicate the task itself. Now make a corridor of rectangles. It should be about 10 meters wide and 30 meters long. Start moving through the corridor, completing a dribble every quarter of step, and accelerate every 6-7 meters. Return back, having made a dribble in the same rhythm. Practice the transition from slow and mid-tempo to high is crucial to increasing the speed of dribbling.
5
Apply these skills in real game situations. Remember that on training to be comfortable enough to make a guide movement. While in an official match, you will not have margin for error. Act on the principle that simpler is better but more reliable. Better to make a simple movement, but to beat the opponent and keep the ball than to lose it.
