Many digital cameras are determined by the computer as a removable storage device. To connect this machine to the computer is very simple. Plug the camera cable, and the cable, in turn, connect to computer USB socket. Next, copy the files from it to hard drive machine the same way as if it were a regular USB flash drive. These cameras are compatible with both Linux and Windows.
2
Other cameras, which are now produced less and less, use the PTP Protocol. This camera connect to computer the same way. But as a removable disk it is not defined. To obtain captured images, run Linux software, digiKam, and in Windows - the software package that comes with the camera.
3
Try to find in the camera menu item that allows you to switch between modes of data transmission. Some models may operate in "mass storage" (this is where the device is defined as removable disk) and the PTP mode it is enough to select the appropriate mode.
4
It happens that does not help none of the above methods. In this case, do not connect the camera to the computer. Turn off the power, remove the memory card, and then place it into a card reader. Card reader connect computer and operate it like a flash drive.
5
Perhaps you are ignorant of the fact that a digital camera you can connect not only to PC but also to the DVD player, and even TV. The player will need one that has a USB connector or a slot for a memory card. To USB connector camera can be connected only if it is defined as a flash drive. The memory card to the player can be used to attach card reader and slot for it, if any. Finally, to connect the camera to a TV, use an analog cable available in the kit. With its help, connect the device to the low-frequency composite video input of the TV.
