Instruction
1
Clematis is best transplanted in the fall, if your site is located in the southern regions of Russia, and in the spring (in April or early may) if the site is located in the Northern areas. Regardless of where you grew clematis before, it must be planted on the South side of the site, because these plants are very light.
2
As clematis are climbing plants, they require support. It is best for this purpose, suitable trellis. Keep in mind that clematis are very clingy and need to be cut for the winter. Therefore, near walls or intricate designs it is better to replant varieties that require low pruning.
3
Once you have decided where to transplant, dig a planting pit 70 cm deep and 60 cm in diameter and fill it with mineral fertilizer. The pit should be prepared about two weeks before transplant. Otherwise the fertilizer will burn the roots and the plant will die.
4
On the bottom of the pit lay a drainage layer of broken bricks, broken stone or gravel with a thickness of 15-20 cm. in Advance, prepare the soil in the following ratio: 1 part peat, 2 parts earth, 2 parts organic matter 1 part sand. Note that the ground you need to use the purchase (garden mix), and not the one that was dug in the preparation of the fossa. When mixing the components of soil, you can add 2-3 cups of wood ash, 200 g dolomite powder and 150 grams of complex fertilizers. Do not add fresh manure.
5
Put the soil in the hole and leave it that way for a while. Then carefully dig up the clematis, together with a clod of earth. Kom wrap gauze, so it was not scattered and move the clematis to a new location. Plant clematis in the already prepared pit with a depth of 10-12 cm, if you have it 1-2-year-old or 15-18cm, if older. The larger the plant, the deeper must be fit. Also, if you replant a clematis in the spring, leave 5-8 cm recess from the edge of the pit to the plant is not choked. The ground will need to pour then in small portions when the clematis will grow in a new place.
6
After the transplant, liberally pour the soil around. We recommend to plant clematis around low-growing flowers that they had created was the shadow. A large amount of sunlight necessary, only the tip of the plant, and the roots may dry out.
