You will need
  • - Flour — 1 Cup
  • - Semolina — 1/4 Cup
  • - Vegetable oil — 2 tbsp
  • - Water (warm 1/2 tbsp. in the dough, 1/2 Cup in syrup) — 1 Cup
  • - Sugar — 3/4 Cup
  • - Coconut shavings — 3 tbsp
  • - Cardamom (freshly ground if available) — 1/2 tsp

Mix 1 Cup flour, ¼ Cup of semolina and 2 tablespoons oil. Mix well with your hands. Add water and knead the dough.

The prepared dough is wrapped with plastic bag or clingfilm and leave for about 30 minutes.

Divide the resulting dough into two equal parts. Roll out each into a round pancake. To make many holes in the text just with a fork.

Cut the dough with a knife into small squares.

In a deep pan to pour a large amount of oil. Heat over high heat. Put in a pan the resulting squares. Fry on medium heat until Golden brown. Cooked crackers, spread on paper towel to remove excess oil.

Prepare the coconut syrup. Mix in a saucepan one-third Cup of sugar and half a Cup of water. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat. Boil the syrup until then, until it is reduced two times.

Turn off the heat and pour in the syrup three tablespoons of coconut flakes and half a teaspoon of ground cardamom. Mix well.

Pour the crackers in the pan with the syrup and stir well to crackers covered with a smooth layer of syrup.

Spread crackers evenly on a flat surface and give them to the end to cool down.
