Cabbage dumplings



Try to prepare delicious and unusual dish - cabbage dumplings. They come out very tender and served with melted butter and breadcrumbs.

You will need:
- 800 g of fresh cabbage;
- 3 eggs;
- 2 tablespoons of crushed crackers;
- 3 tablespoons of semolina;
- 80 g of butter;
- salt to taste.

Select a small cabbage, cut out core and remove top leaves. Chop the cabbage into large chunks and boil in salted water until soft. Drain vegetable in a colander, let the water drain out, then put the cabbage under pressure.

Separate the yolks from the whites. Miss cabbage through a meat grinder, mix with semolina, egg yolks and salt. The proteins shake in a solid foam. Add them to the cooled cabbage mixture and mix gently.

Boil some salted water. With a teaspoon take a little of the cabbage mass and lower into boiling water. Slide the spoon along the bottom of the pan, so the dough doesn't stick.
If the dumplings are boiled soft, add to the dough 1 tablespoon semolina.


The dumplings are cooked about 15 minutes. When they emerge and increase in size, get them with a slotted spoon, let cool, place on a platter. Pour the dumplings with melted butter and sprinkle with crushed toasted breadcrumbs.

Casserole of cabbage



This simple but impressive dish, you can prepare for Sunday lunch. It is hearty, but light.

You will need:
- 1 kg of cabbage;
- 0,5 stale loaf;
- 1 Cup of milk;
- 4 eggs;
- 1.5 tablespoons of butter;
- 1 big onion;
- 5 tablespoons of crushed crackers;
- 150 g strong cheese;
- salt and ground black pepper.
Use no breading, and homemade breadcrumbs, dried in oven and crushed in a mortar. With them, the dish will be much tastier.


Onions chop and fry in butter until transparent. Baton cut into slices and soak them in milk. Cabbage boil in salted water until soft, pre-cut into large pieces. Pass it through a meat grinder together with the bread and onions.

Cool cabbage weight and pound it with egg-yolks, half a serving of crackers, salt and pepper. Proteins whisk and portions enter into the mix. A heat-resistant form grease with oil and place the cabbage mixture. Place the mold in the oven, preheated to 180 ° C and bake for 15 minutes.

Cheese grate on a fine grater and mix with the remaining breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over casserole and return it to the oven for another 7 minutes. The finished dish remove from oven, slightly cool and cut into bars. Serve with fresh sour cream.
