How to prevent programs access to the Internet
Many of the programs, and not even necessarily malicious, irritating users with constant connection attempts are not always known by the servers (especially games). Fortunately, any firewall, including the built-in Windows XP, you may solve this problem.
Instruction
Open control Panel and navigate to Windows Firewall settings.
Go to the tab "Exceptions".
Click "Add program" and browse to the executable file of programs that interest you.
The program now appears in the list. Install next to it a tick in order to allow the program output to the network or remove it to disable.
Note
4. In the left part of the window, click Allow a program or feature through Windows firewall. To allow the program access to the Internet, select Public. To deny access, clear the check box next to the name of the program. To delete an existing rule, select the name and click the Remove button.
Useful advice
The panel on the left find the link "Allow a program or feature through Windows firewall" and go for it. Here click "Change settings". The window You see a table that has a list of programs and speakers with the types of networks (private and public). That would deny the program access to the Internet, you need to remove the checkbox in the table opposite the name of the program from column "Public". If You do not need to make a rule for the program, you will be able to remove.
