After the operating system detects the new drive and installs the drivers for it will need to be initialized. Only after that we can create and format one or more partitions. To do this, open the console "computer Management".
To do this, click "start" -> "Settings" -> "control Panel" - > administrative tools - > computer Management".Or right-click the mouse on the icon "My computer" on the desktop or in the start menu" and select in the menu the string "Administration";
In the left part of the window "Storage devices", select "Manage diskAMI.
Management console diskAMI" can also be started by typing diskmgmt.msc in the "Run...", "start menu".

Now should start the "Master initialize and convert disks". Click "Next", "Next", after the appearance of "the wizard initialization and conversion completed successfully" click "Finish".

If all goes successfully, the window "Control diskAMI" ("computer Management" -> "Storage" -> "Manage diskAMI) to see a new disk marked "Unallocated". Click your right mouse button and from the context menu select "Create partition...". Start "new partition Wizard", click "Next".

In the next window select type of the new partition – Primary or Logical (the default Primary partition), "Next".
On a single physical disk, you can create multiple partitions, but the major no more than four. In the extended partition you can create one or several logical drives. The main different from the additional fact that the main section can be used to start the operating system, and logical not. The partition that hosts the operating system files are marked and called the active. Can be active only one section.

Select the size of the new partition (default maximum size). If you are going to create on this hard diske multiple partitions, you need to think in advance what amount you want to allocate to each created partition, and enter it in this window.

Select the letter drive. It can be any letter of the Latin alphabet, unused even to refer to another driveand or partition.

Set the formatting options (the type of file system (default is NTFS), cluster size (I advise you to leave "default"), the volume label, whether to use quick format and compression of files and folders) completing the selection click "Next".

Before exiting the "Wizard" sections will be shown a window containing a summary of the chosen parameters. If everything is correct on the selections made, click "Finish".

After formatting, marked "Unallocated" will change to "Healthy." Now you can create more partitions or get to work with is already created.
