The experts who conducted the study at the University of Alabama conducted an analysis of the number of unintentional injuries due to inattentive driving. As it turned out, almost half of the drivers who took part in the experiment because of this, become parties to the accident.

In the experiment, the researchers drew attention to two age groups, adolescents aged 16-25 and older people from 55 to 85 years. These categories of drivers more often than others to be blamed for road accidents.

Most often inattention at the wheel was peculiar to those drivers who were confident in their experience and too conscientious. The participants of the so-called "risk group" quite often focus solely on any one piece (watched exclusively straight, etc.) and also was prone to excessive impulsivity, anxiety and excitement.

Despite this, participants in the different groups of experts have discovered peculiar traits, they could potentially become one of the causes of the accident. So, for example, young drivers are significantly more likely to distracted by phone calls and writing, reading of SMS messages.
