Begonias are considered to be undemanding plants, but are important only in the case if they provided the basic conditions favourable for their existence. Any errors in the care of this flower immediately reacts to loss of beauty in their unusual foliage. If begonias begin to dry and fall off the leaves located at the bottom of the stem, it is probably the only case when you should not worry: there is a natural process of dying back.
2
When the flower begins to get dark, gather straw and dry not only the lower leaves, but all the rest, there is a more complex problem that requires a very serious approach to finding the cause of the disease. The most common cause of this phenomenon may be a bug in the watering of the flower. Begonias – moisture-loving plants, intolerant and dry warm air and excessive water stagnation at the roots. The best irrigation mode is performed in the same hours, uniformly hydrating the ground. In summer, watering should be frequent, do not allow drying earthen coma. In the cold season begonia watered sparingly and preferably with warm water. Varieties of begonias, which have smooth leaves may be subjected to additional irrigation water from a spray bottle. Plants with hairy leaves to spray the drops of water refracting the sun's rays like a lens, can cause burns on tender leaves and leave dark ugly spots.
3
Another common cause of brown and dry leaves can be tap water of low quality. Begonias are sensitive to the presence of fluorine and chlorine in water, so watering should be done only filtered or well water supernatant. The best liquid for watering this flower is considered to be the melt water: ordinary tap water freeze to ice, and then allow it to thaw at room temperature.
4
Dry leaves can also signal lack of humidified air in the room. Even with abundant irrigation excessive dryness of the air can cause diseases of plants. To avoid this problem around the pot with begonia is recommended to place an open container with warm water that evaporates, it will humidify the air of the entire room. You can place the pots in a deep tray filled with wet sand, pebbles or moss, and this boded well for additional humidification.
5
The lack or overabundance of sunlight can also affect the condition and color of the leaves of begonia: the plant prefers well-lit places, but absolutely can not tolerate contact with the leaves and flowers in direct sunlight. Best begonia feels at Windows, facing South-East or South-West. These plants prefer space, not like when they were moving from place to place, touch their leaves. Very poorly tolerate cold and frosty air drafts, which can also be the cause of the disease and drying of leaves.
