What action has Drug

Smectite dioctaedric is the aluminum silicate of natural origin. It has absorbent and protective action stabilizes the slimy barrier of the gastrointestinal tract, increasing the amount of mucus and improving its cytoprotective (protective) properties. Thanks diskoidna-crystal structure of the active substance the drug absorbs bacteria, viruses and their toxins in the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract.

In therapeutic doses, the Drug has no effect on intestinal motility. Aluminium in the structure of diosmectite is not absorbed by the walls of the digestive tract. The active substance is radiolucent, does not stain the chair.

Contraindications to Smecta

How to take a "Smectite"

In acute diarrhea of children under 1 year, give 2 sachets per day (3 days), then 1 bag. Dosage for children over 1 year is 4 tea bags a day (also 3 days), then 2 bags. Adults take 6 tea bags per day. In other indications the dosage is reduced by 2 times. The duration of treatment is from 3 to 7 days.

The contents of the sachets dissolved in 1/2 Cup warm water (for children – in a baby's bottle or mixing with any liquid product porridge, compote, purée, baby food). The prescribed dose is distributed into 3 doses throughout the day.
