Indications for use
"Omeprazole" is used for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease in different manifestations. In particular, a drug used for the treatment of stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacterpylori, reflux esophagitis. The drug is also prescribed for benign tumors of the pancreas in combination with gastric ulcer (syndrome zollingerellison).
The drug "Omeprazole" is available in capsule form at a dosage of 10, 20 and 40 mg.
Instructions for use of "Omeprazole"
Peptic ulcer disease is prescribed 20 mg "Omeprazole" 1 time daily, in the morning, a course of 2 weeks. Sometimes the duration of treatment was increased to 4 weeks. In case of poor saeplast ulcers dosage is 40 mg "Omeprazole" course in 8 weeks. For the prevention administered 10-40 mg 1 times a day. Maintenance dosage depends on the severity of the disease.
When reflux esophagitis daily dose is 20 mg "Omeprazole", the course of treatment lasts 4 weeks; in severe cases, take 40 mg of the drug in the course of 8 weeks. In the treatment of peptic ulcer appoint 20-40 mg of the drug "Omeprazole" twice a day for 2-4 weeks. The syndrome of zollingerellison determine the dose of 60 mg "Omeprazole" 1 times a day, in severe cases, 40 to 60 mg 2 times a day.

Contraindications and cautions
"Omeprazole" do not take if you are allergic to its components. The drug is not prescribed to persons with chronic liver disease, including history. Treatment by this means is contraindicated in children, during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects
As a rule, the treatment of "Omeprazole" is well tolerated. Occasionally during treatment there can be side effects such as muscle weakness, joint pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, sleep disturbances, dry mouth, nausea, stool disorders, stomach pain, flatulence, gastrointestinal candidiasis.
