Festal (festal) improves the breakdown of proteins, fats and carbohydrates entering the body with food. Analogues of the drug - Digestal, Enzistal, Penzital. The enzymes amylase, protease and lipase included in the composition of the drug, promote the absorption of nutrients. The bile extract has choleretic effect, improves the absorption of fats and vitamins A, K, stimulates the pancreas. Bile acids correct the violations related to the formation of bile, which often occur in chronic pancreatitis. The enzyme hemicellulase helps the absorption of plant fiber, thereby improving digestion.
Festal prescribed for chronic pancreatitis, in pathological conditions which manifest themselves through the violation of process of digestion, tendency to constipation, flatulence. Tool used together with other drugs in the treatment of diffuse diseases of liver (alcoholic and toxic lesions) and cirrhosis, in human biliary tract, accompanied by violation of the circulation of bile acids, at dysbacteriosis, in violation of the regulation of processes of formation and separation of bile in chronic duodenitis, chronic gastritis, chronic cholecystitis. Festal is prescribed to normalize the digestion and assimilation of food when you change the diet, sedentary lifestyle, in violation of chewing function.

Instructions for use of Festal
Festal taken during or immediately after meal with a small amount of water. The drug is prescribed 3 times a day 1-2 tablets (pills). In preparation for studies of the abdomen should be taken 2-3 days before the procedure 2 tablets 2-3 times a day. Festal dose for children is determined by the physician individually in each case. The duration of intake of the drug can vary from several days (when errors in the diet) to several years (for substitution therapy).
Side effects and contraindications to the use of Festal
Festal may cause the following side effects: nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, allergic reactions (watery eyes, sneezing, redness of the skin). With prolonged use of high doses may increase the content of uric acid in the blood and in the urine. Children may develop irritation of the mouth, irritation in the anus. Festal is contraindicated during exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, acute pancreatitis, liver failure, hepatitis, gallstone disease, with tendency to diarrhea, obstructive jaundice, intestinal obstruction.
