Instruction
1
Make sure that a new battery meets all the requirements and recommendations to install the batteries, set out in the technical documentation of the car. In particular, should match the capacity, installation location and mounting method, polarity, configuration and dimensions of the collector elements. Failure to comply with the conditions of the manufacturer, leads to a strong reduction of the service life of the starter and battery.
2
Before installing the battery, clean it from dust and dirt, wipe the cover, the terminals and contacts are clean of oxides. With the new, remove the plastic wrap. To clean the body and lid use a soft cloth with soda water or a water solution of ammonia. When cleaning the hull along the way, check it for integrity. Make sure vent holes are open and not contaminated. Check the electrolyte level in batteries and top up if necessary with distilled water.
3
Install the battery on a regular place, tighten the nuts securing the retaining bracket. However, the installation needs to be tight without play in the fixing points. Plug wires, pre-cleaning lugs. wires. Nuts of fastening of the terminals, lubricate with special grease against oxidation and tighten with enough force. After once again check up correctness of connection of contacts.
4
The installation of a new battery should be done at an ambient temperature not below 25 degrees. If it is winter and the car is at the open Parking lot, make the battery home, heat, load and then install. If the battery is installed too close to the exhaust manifold, it may affect the resource. Provide thermal protection of the battery, if it is not provided by the manufacturer.
5
When installed in a damaged battery individual dry-cell batteries pre-fill them with electrolyte and check the status. To do this, Unscrew them and the tube through a glass funnel, fill the housing with electrolyte to the maximum level. The electrolyte density should be equal to 1.28 g/CC after enduring a 20-minute break, measure the voltage, which should not be less than 12.5 V. When the voltage from 10.5 to 12.5 V charge the battery. If voltage is less than 10.5 volts, replace it. Re-check the electrolyte level and if necessary, add the same to the maximum level.
