Click "start" to bring up the main menu system and navigate to "Run" to initiate procedures for disabling autorun for removable storage media.

Enter the value gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK to confirm the command.

Specify the "Local computer Policy" in the window "Group policy" and click "computer Configuration".

Open the link "Administrative templates" and select "System".

Specify the policy "turn Off AutoPlay" from the right side of the application window and select "properties" in the menu "Action".

Apply the check box on "Enabled" in the dialog "Properties: turn off AutoPlay" and select "all drives" in the drop down menu "turn Off AutoPlay on:".

Click OK to confirm the run command and navigate to "user Configuration".

Point to "Administrative templates" and select "System".

Use the item "turn Off AutoPlay" from the right side of the application window and select the item "Properties" in the menu "Action".

Apply the check box on "Enabled" in the dialog "Properties: turn Off AutoPlay" and select "all drives" in the drop down menu "turn Off AutoPlay on:".

Shut down the service "Group policy" and restart the computer to apply the selected changes.

Return to the main menu "start" and click "Execute" to run the disable autorun tool "registry Editor".

Type regedit in the Open box and click OK to confirm the command.

Expand the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftwindowscurrentversionpoliciesexplorer and set the value of NoDriveTypeAutoRun registry entry is equal to ff to disable autorun on all drives.

Expand the registry branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlsetservicescdrom and set the AutoRun parameter is set to 0 to disable autostart CD-ROM drive.

Shut down the Windows NT registry Editor and restart the computer to apply the selected changes.
