The signs of true death

Permanent signs of biological death are: the phenomenon of "cat's eye", the drying of the cornea, a decrease in body temperature, the appearance of the cadaver spots on the body, rigor Mortis. It is necessary to consider them in more detail.

Drying of the cornea. It manifests itself in the loss of the iris of their original color. The eyes of a dead person covered with a white veil, and the pupil becomes cloudy.

The phenomenon of "cat's eye". If you squeeze the eyeball forefinger and thumb, in the case of a true man's death his pupil will change their form, becoming a narrow slit, reminiscent of the pupil of the eye of a cat.

It should be noted that both of the above sign suggests that the person has passed not less than an hour ago. In addition, these symptoms can't occur in living people.

The temperature decrease. Body temperature begins to subside gradually. Every hour after death it drops by 1 degree Celsius. This characteristic is not reliable in the first posthumous man hours. At his death will be certain only after 4 hours later.

Livores Mortis. On a deceased person begin to receive the appropriate lividity. Their color is purple. They occur on lower parts of the dead body. For example, if the corpse lies on the back, the spots occur on the head behind the ears, on the hips, shoulders, buttocks and of course on the back.

Rigor Mortis. There is a stiffness of the skeletal muscles. This happens top – down. The first "freezes" the face, then neck, upper limbs, trunk, lower extremities.

It should be noted that the full development of all the above post-mortem signs occurs within one day after biological death.
