What is candidiasis
Candidiasis (thrush) is an infectious disease caused by the fungus Candida. This fungus is present in the microflora of each person is necessary, but in certain quantities. Candidiasis can be transmitted through household items: bed linen, towel, dishes. And through food, badly washed vegetables/fruit. The perfect environment for development of fungus are common areas - bath, sauna, swimming pool.
The baby can get thrush from the mother while passing through the birth canal or when feeding.
