Volleyball balls are divided into two large groups - professional and Amateur. Professional designed for sports and the price of the goals of this class are quite high. Amateur the balls can be much cheaper.

According to the production technology, the balls are divided into sewn and glued. As a rule, sewn is usually made of leather, but sometimes synthetic. And the production of laminated balls involves a more complex technology. Initially, the camera wound reinforced frame made of thread, then put on it a layer of natural or synthetic leather. So these balls more wear-resistant. But at the same time they are afraid of moisture and high temperature.

The choice of ball depends on the age of the players and places of the game. So, children would suit small, light ball made of genuine leather. Initially, this ball can be too hard, but over time it will become soft and pleasant to the touch. For game in a hall it is better to choose a solid ball with a dense coating, e.g., synthetic leather with polyurethane. And select a ball with a water-repellent layer. Usually the balls for classic volleyball used in sports halls with parquet floors, and with a coating of synthetic materials. These balls better not to play at outdoor fields, on tarmac or gravel, as their lifetime will be reduced to two three times.

Beach volleyball there is a specific class goals. They are made of synthetic leather, as a natural coating will absorb moisture. Choose waterproof, dense, but soft ball in microfiber, which will cover synthetic leather. Beach volleyball will suit stitched balls, because they are less susceptible to deformation when wet.

Usually when choosing the color of the ball choose bright shades. It is believed that the most viable option is the tri-color ball.
