If you need to transport a houseplant, start preparing in advance: some days before moving stop to water the plant. The earth in the pots should be dry. The top layer can cover the cut cardboard around, this will help the earth not to sleep in the carriage.

Prepare wooden pegs for long plants. The peg to stick into the center of the pot and tie it to the stem of the plant. If the plant is very branchy, take a few pegs.
