Several times expressive read the given text. This will allow you to highlight interesting points raised voice, and memorize them.

Determine what you already know about the reading. Reliance on knowledge from other sources about the content of the text will help you prepare for any kind of retelling (detailed, compressed, concise, creative). For example, the staging of a creative retelling based on figurative representations; if you had the role of costume designer, the knowledge gained from the lessons of history and labor of the fashion trends in different eras, will help to describe the appearance of the characters.

Highlight features of the text (genre, style, composition, syntax, etc.), techniques and means of artistic expression (metaphor, hyperbole, comparison, personification, etc.).

Identify main idea of given text.

Collect the necessary material:

for short episodes of importance, main and secondary, which character should be associated retelling;

- to selectively – from the point of view of its importance for uncovering the main themes of the work, ie the material is scattered throughout the text, but refers to the same subject matter;

- for the creative retelling will need individual episodes (e.g., development of a Filmstrip, verbal, drawing).

Select logical parts of the text. Underline each word in the phrase, words, phrases to support. If necessary, ask for and write down questions that you can use when retelling. Write down the words that are needed for serial communication logical units.

Put in front of them and relying on them, retell the text aloud. The second time, do not use the worksheet. It is better if you will have someone to listen, or use the recorder.

Compare the paraphrase with the specified text and find the missing places. Retell the text as long as all defects are corrected, and you will not feel comfortable and confident.
