How to put a chain

Buy or make yourself a chain to his car. When you select chain note size links – the more you link, the more throughput, but it increases the wear and tear. To reduce wear, buy the "soft" chain with reinforced rubber "cleats". In addition, they allow you to drive on asphalt at speeds up to 80 km/h (in contrast to "hard", which do not reach speeds above 40 km/h).

Before installing, remove wheel covers to avoid their rapid wear. If you will mount the chain to the wheel legkoplavkim disc, be careful that they do not touch, otherwise the disk may be damaged.

Put chains on the drive wheels. If you have four-wheel drive car, equip chains of both pairs of wheels or only the front axle.

To install chains, spread them out along the axis of motion. Play chain hooks, lanyards or retractors eccentric position outside. Gently flatten them and drop in either two front wheels or two rear. Stop at 20-30 cm from the end of the chain.

Get a large part of the chain on the wheel, then hook the hook or tighten the bolt on the inside. Straighten the chain on the wheel and tighten the fastening from the outside. Try to fasten the hook on the most distant link to it taut. To do this, use a screwdriver.

Pull the chain by means of eccentric tensioners by turning the key clockwise or use the tie from the lanyard and the piece of chain, pulling it diagonally across the wheel. Installing the chain, must pass at least 1 km, and then again adjust the tension.

If while driving you notice that the chain touches the body or the suspension of the vehicle, stop as soon as possible and tighten fasteners. Try to avoid sharp braking, and cornering, large bumps and potholes.
