Ar

Ar (lat. area - area of surface) of land equal to one hundred square meters. This area is a square with side 10 meters. That is,

1 ar = 100 m2.

Thus, to convert Ares to square meters, just comnote number by one hundred. Do not forget to specify derived units.

For example,

30 ar = 3 000 m2;

0,5 ar = 50 m2;

Ar 9 000 000 = 900 000 000 m2.
2
Hectare

The prefix hecto - means 102. On this basis, it is easy to see that 1 hectare is 100 times more Ara

1 ha = 100 ar = 102 ar.

To convert hectares to square meters, comnote the number 10 000. Enter the resulting unit of measure.

For example,

5 hectares = 500 ar = 50 000 m2;

0.1 ha = 10 ar = 1 000 m2;

Of 0.001 ha = 1 ar = 10 m2.
3
If you want to translate acres, say, in square decimeters, comnote available number of hectares per 1 000 000:

1 ha = 1 000 000 dm2;

0.87 hectares = 870 000 dm2.
4
To translate acres into square kilometers, divide the number of hectares by 100 (comnote 10 in degree-2):

1 ha = 0,001 km2;

500 ha = 5 km2;

4,000 ha = 40 km2.
5
In some countries (e.g. UK, Canada, USA, Australia) to measure the area of land use such units as acres and square yards. These units are in English system of measures.

1 acre is numerically equal to 4840 square yards and about 4046.86 square meters.

1 acre = 4840 yd2 = 4046,86 m2 = 40,5, ar = 0, 405 ha;

1 yard ≈ 0,9144 m, therefore, 1 yd2 ≈ 0, 8361 m2.
