First of all you must choose the variety of strawberry, which is suitable to climatic conditions of your area. For example, berry "Elsanta" unsuitable for harsh winters, but "Eros" carries great Siberian winter. Varieties differ in ripening, for example, "Honey" is an early variety of strawberry, and "Bogota" - late.

Prepare the soil for planting. Remember that berry does not like the slope, so try to level the place and give it a horizontal position. Strawberry feels comfortable and gives a large harvest in the vicinity of the currant and gooseberry. Dig up the ground to a depth of 20-25 cm, add compost soil or manure, superphosphate and potassium salt.

Plant plant spring or early fall. Make a small hole at a distance of 20-25 cm from each other, as the strawberry growing rapidly. Place the berries and cover with soil. Necessarily in the end pour. If you planted the plant in the spring, cover the strawberries with plastic wrap. This is necessary in order to create a greenhouse effect and protect the berries from frost.

In the flowering process of strawberry water necessarily, as it loves moisture and does not tolerate drought. Watch for weeds and remove them, because they can inhibit the flowering of berries, and sometimes even "crush".

After the harvest, prepare the strawberries to frost. To do this, cover the beds and agro-fibre, and put hay. Instead of hay, you can use regular chips, but in early spring, remove them, otherwise they will sour.

Remember that strawberries do not like to stay in one place, so after 3-4 years the plant it elsewhere. If you don't want the berry was grown, after harvest, remove the moustache in the bushes with garden shears.
